Well maybe sticking to warrior skills alone is an improvement, healing breeze is too expensive with just 2 pips regen for example.

Id go for something like

1-Sever Artery
2-Gash
3-Galrath Slash
4-Watch yourself
5-Healing signet
6-Shield stance
7-Doylak signet
8-and a res

I see Tactics, Strength, Sword and Healing being used, what are your attributes set to? Why do you wish to be last man standing if you have no offense?

As stated, offset the Healing Signet's penalty with a stance or armor boost and you can skip the monk skills except for the rez.

Your build is nowhere near as a Tank Build should be.
The job of a tank is to take a bunch of damage before healing ( from group monk) is needed. So your most important job is to stay alive and take few damage.

A few skills i like, to be able to tank are.
Watch Yourself ( one of the greatest skills in the game )
Endure Pain
Defy Pain [E]
Elemental Resistence/Physical Resistence
And depending on the location, Dolyak signet

This is for the non ignore armor damage you will be taking.
For degen and armor ignoring damage, i leave that to my monks.

Weapons its really dependant on your build , but for the skill i have listed for example
A shield max armor +30hp reduces damage by 2 while in stance
A "weapon" with +7 armor vs elemental dmg
A "weapon" with +7 armor vs physical dmg

You switch between the "weapon" depending on what enemy you are facing and what Resistance stance you have up.

Last tip, dont think so much about doing dmg when you want to be a tank.
Maybe a inturpt skill but no more i would suggest.
Theres also a build section on this forum, scroll down to see it, go there look around and you might find even more help.

*chuckles* I like the Meteor Shower comment...

Seriously though, even a "true" tank needs to have (imo) some offensive capability, otherwise you're so specialized you're usesless in my opinion.

When my roommate or myself run a Whammo, we typically go with

Berserker Stance
Silverwing Slash
Galrath Slash
Final Thrust
Doylak Signet
Healing Hands {E}
Mending
Rebirth (or Gash if in a non-needing-ressurect situtation like AB or FA, etc)

Yeah, I know it's a "Whammo Mending" build, but, eh, I had to do it.

Basically it allows you to remove Tactics (and sometimes tactics too) and focus on a Strength/Sword build with a little Healing.

Better to go with stances than enchants, IMO, as the latter are expensive and can be shattered making them counterproductive. Depends on what you're up against though.

No offence Does it Matter, but that is the worse Tank build i ever saw...
You give him one skill that ups his armor and thats dolyak... so if he hits it and mob run tru him, his allies are dead before he gets to them.

Let me clear things up he asked for a Tanking build not a Whammo build, to clear things up for you a whammo is not the same as a Tank.

Xeonos i really suggest you to not follow Does it Matter's suggestion, cause its not what you asked for.

[Read Edit]Again my suggestion stands to go the the builds section, much more help there.[Read Edit]

Edit: oops i didnt realive this got moved to builds section.

dump sword go full tactics strenght

Something along the lines of

1. Gladiators Defence [E]
2. Healing signet/ Lions comfort(if you have NF)
3. Riposte
4. Deadly riposte
5. Watch yourself
6. optional
7. optional
8. Res skill of your choice

for 6 and 7, think something like Bonettis, shield stance, or other evasive stances, dolyak signet.
You could also bring Gash to pump the offense a bit (deadly riposte sets them bleeding)
Most effective when tnaking melee mobs, but you should see that. also, try to adapt depending on the situation, if you for example know you are going to face ALOT of elementalist, maybe take mesmer as secondairy and throw in elemental resistance. GL with it

Now you are tanking (Gladiators and watch yourself)
Doing damage (again Gladiators and the ripostes)
And you have a sealf heal!(helaing signet)

Gear-holding is dead. So you have general PvE, farming, and PvP. this isn't about PvP of course, and it dosn't appear to be about genreal PvE. But what confuses me is that most farming builds are pretty area specific....

Yes, a 'tanking' build is what a steriotypical wammo plays. It is a build that can take damage, but provides none of the offensive power that warriors are so good at puting out.

In PvE, I use this axe build (stolen from the Jade Brotherhood)...

Cyclone Axe, Dismember, Triple Chop, Executioner's Strike, Watch Yourself, Healing Signet, Shield's Up, Res Sig.

Your typical Breeze/Dual Riposte/Glads Defense warrior isn't going to kill anything, and spreads the points too much, imo.

EDIT: In the Shiverpeaks, with henchies, I usually bring IWAY and Dolyak, instead of Shield's Up and Watch Yourself.

you have monks for a reason, so you don't need to heal, 16 Strength, 13 Tactics:

Defy Pain {E}
Endure Pain
Dolyak Signet
Defensive Stance
Shield Stance
'Shields Up!'
'Watch Yourself!'
And a Res.

If you notice there, you only carry 3 energy skills, all are 5 energy and last long, so you don't need to be pressured for energy. you need a weapon, but you won't do much damage with it, just bring 3+1 in swordsmanship and hack away, just to charge adrenaline, you have the crimson carapace shield, so thats good for your stances, Watch Yourself + Dolyak is about 60AL, 80AL from Armour, Shield stance/Defensive stance are +24, so you have 164AL, which is a 15/16 damage reduction, no KD, 75% chance to block, an extra 50 AL against rangers, and an 87.5% chance to block arrows (75% from Stance, 50% of the 25% left, = 87.5%) against ele spells, if you add the +20AL against ele (req 13 strength) insignias to your armour, you have 184AL to elemental damage (reduces 100 damage to 3.78 -> 4 damage)

And there you stand, taking no damage and doing even less. Your team will love you for the extra duration you add to the fight you are in. If you run a build like this, be prepared to not go anywhere for a while.

that isnt a tank build at all. The only kind of tank skill you have there is HH and like others have said...you need to be thinking about stances more than enchantments. Try my tank build:

well i dunno if u want a "pure" tank or jsut a regular whammo so ill jsut give out the build im using which can tank well and farm some

galrath slash
final thrust
riposte
deadly riposte
healing hands
vigorous spirit
mending
balthazars spirit

bassically spam the ripostes and finish the off with the galrath+final thrust combo.. balthazar will give u al the energy u need and vigorous+healing hands should heal u ok

the thing is.. PUGs suck.. u can just depend ur whole build on a monks heal..leave that for GvG

and a tank build lyke ythose ive seen above wont be able to farm if theyre lives depended on it.. they just have no dmg

my 2cents

The only two skills you need to tank are Dolyak Signet and Watch Yourself. I use this build for general PvE

Galrath Slash
Silverwing Slash
Standing Slash
Flail
"Watch Yourself!"
Dolyak Signet
Healing Signet
Rebirth

11+1 Strength
10+3 Swordsmanship
10+1+1 Tactics

You can heal yourself, negate almost all damage, and still pump out decent damage yourself. Have fun.
